A little sale coming up.

I have decided to have a little sale in my Etsy shop. I have a few characters who need to go to new homes. I want to do lots of new characters next year and need room for them. I will be able to take on commissions too now as I have more time. If you fancy a special character just email me with your suggestions. I will be listing in Etsy after the weekend.

Some more characters

These are a few of the characters I brought back from KDF. They are listed on my website. Will post more over the next week or so.
Now I have finished my nursing day job I will have a little more time to take on some commissions. I think I work better with loose ideas, so if you would like a giddy character let me know. Jain xx

Back from KDF.

I am very sorry my blog has been neglected so badly recently. What with getting stock together for KDF and starting up The Silver Kipper (jewellery) it has had to take a back seat. I have now joined facebook and when I work out how to link them ,will do.
It was touch and go as to whether Julie and I made it to Kensington. Both of us had to dig ourselves out at our houses, but once I got on the main road it was ok. We caught the train, which was cancelled, then delayed, but we got there in the end. Customers turned out too and Julie and I both sold well.
Some of the characters I brought home will be for sale from my website. They will be listed in there over the coming weeks. This is a photo of Jessama, she will be one looking for a new home . Jain xx

Happy Halloween and other things!

First, apoligies for not posting for so long. So many things have been happening recently I haven't had much time for adding to my blog. I have been trying to keep up with things in blogland periodically. Welcome to my new followers.
The main thing that has happened is, after 30 years of nursing I handed my notice in. I now have one week left to work. As a consequence of this I have had to find something else to bring some money in. I am in the process of setting up a new business in silver keepsake jewellery. It involves putting fingerprints, handprints, pawprints into fine silver. This is taking rather alot of my time at the moment and I am trying to get stock ready for Pudsey fair next weekend and Kensington in December.
I will still continue to do my dolls, but probably will be cutting down on fairs next year at least. Will hopefully putting more characters for sale through my website or etsy.
I thought I would just add a photo of the ghost lady I have finished this week and also some pictures I took yesterday at Whitby goth weekend. The costumes were fabulous, lots of steampunk and weird costumes. The photo with babies, they are reborn babies.
Enjoy!! Love Jain xx

2 new characters

These 2 goblins will be coming to my upcoming fairs with me. I am planning to add another couple to make a bigger group. I like displaying dolls in groups. They are both quite small, the one standing is only 5" to the top of his huge hat. Had fun doing these. The one drawing has odd eyes which makes him a little creepy. Love Jain xx

I have loved reading all your comments about what makes you smile, Thank you so much for participating.
Today I have spent a lovely day with my friend Julie (bellabelle dolls) and I have got Betty and Macey help me to make the draw.

CONGRATULATIONS EVA. Please can you email me your contact details and I can get your surprise on it's way to you. Love Jain xxx

Sorry photos in the wrong order, not sure how to change them.

Back from Scotland.

Well, back home after 2 weeks of variable weather and sometimes stressful campervan living!!!
My favourite place on the whole holiday was the Isle of Mull. We camped right on the beach edge as you can see from the photos. The other photos are of my 2 miniature schnauzers sat on my lap on the ferry to Iona. It was rather windy and Betty felt the need to have her arm round Macey. The weather was good here and no midges, due to the wind I think!! I found my Mojo here and have brought it home with me!!

I'm thrilled to read your lovely comments and hearing what makes you smile. Maybe some of these photos will too. A big welcome to my new followers. Another week left before I draw the winner of the giveaway. love Jain xxxx

Club exhibition.

Have had a very busy day at York at our club exhibition today. I took my 1940's house. It went down very well, had admirers all day. It was good to talk to people who were not into the hobby as well as enthusiasts It wasa real struggle to get it there as it is so big and unfortunately has got some damage! It will be easy to repair it , but I don't think it will have another outing.

Also welcome to my new followers. I my getting very excited now that I am 3 followers are off 100. I am going to be having a giveaway when I reach that mark. Keep a look out! Love Jain xx

Introducing Camille.

This is Camille. I finished her today and she is part polymer, part needlefelted, with a needlefelted little rabbit. Her eyes are glass and have a lovely sparkle, even though she looks sad. Jainxx

A Swap!

I don't think many people know I belong to a UK based Dollshouse swap group. I haven't been a member for long, but have always loved the idea of doing swaps. The group is a yahoo online group and is run by Rebecca Farwell. There are always different types of swaps to get involved with and you can do as many as you want. If anyone is interested in joining, there is the link on the side bar. You have to live in the UK to be a member. This is a picture of a little pod baby I made as a birthday swap. She is made from polymer clay and needlefelted pod.

Mother of the Bride

She has eventually got some hair and a hat. She has taken a while to complete, as I've had a bit of a blip this last week. I hope I am back on an even keel now.... Things crop up sometimes that kerb creativity!! Hilda Honeyman,(mother of the bride) will be in my fair box for next Autumns fairs. I'm afraid this photo does not do her justice. Love Jain xx

Some more of my SIMP treasures.

Sorry these pictures are not in order. Can't seem to work out how to get them where I want.
These are of some of the gorgeous things I bought at SIMP. I'm afraid the nursery is no further along as I'm waiting on some bits. The photos are of a corner cupboard from Veronique Lux filled with some lovely little bits. The dog on a drum is also by Veronique. The 2 automaton toys are Lawrence St.leger, I have had these for a while. The little ceramic bunnies are the work of Veronique Cornish. Little heart dishes by Paris miniatures ( the spotty one) and the other is Elizabeth Causeret. The little undressed doll I bought from Jane Laverick, not at SIMP.
The next picture is a fabulous little hand painted child's table and chairs made by Valerie-Anne Casson. It was jut what I was looking for for the nursery. On the table are 3 cup cakes by Paris miniatures, a jug again by Elizabeth Causeret and a beautifully stitched tea cosy by Rosanna. The tea cosy looks a little big on the table, as it is a child's table, but fit's so nicely with the other things.
The first picture is introducing Pippi, my first child for the nursery. She is made by the very talented Catherine Menuire. It was an exciting buy, as you had to first get a raffle ticket and then attend the draw. When your ticket is pulled out, you may choose 1 doll to buy. I waited very patiently, twiddling my crystal, in the hope my ticket was drawn in time to purchase Pippi. It was, it was meant to be!! Jain xx

A baby!!!!

I made this little baby for a friend of mine this weekend. She is not 12th scale. She is about 3.5" long. Did enjoy doing it, not my normal kind of thing. She has full limbs and a soft weighted body.
My friend was thrilled with her. Jain xx

Some of my goodies!

I have taken a picture of a few of the goodies I bought at SIMP. I am ashamed to say in my hurry, I have taken said goodies out of their packaging and have forgotton where I purchased some of them . Will try and remember when I check the catalogue!LOL
The beautiful french style seat is from Valerie-Anne Casson. She had some fabulous things on her stand and I came away with a fair few. The little Knitted cardigan is from one of the artists I can't remember. The tiny rabbit toys and the pull-along doll toy infront, are all the work of Emily Art, some beautiful things there, wish I had got more.
Veronique Lux made the pull- along sheep. The 2 knitted mice are by Gill Rothwell, who knits the most detailed and fabulous characters. These were not purchased at SIMP. The needlepoint cushion is by Petits Bonheur. The two little cushions with a horse on and a pug dog, were form Swan miniatures, I think!!
The nursery roombox is still very much work in progress.Hope you enjoy these, lots more to come yet!! Jain xx

Another sneaky one!!!!

This picture was just another sneaky photo taken as we were taking tea( the french cannot make tea!!LOL)and cake in Laduree. Thats why it looks a little blurred!!
I am looking forward to showing some of my purchases from SIMP. They are all for my new French inspired nursery roombox. It is partly completed, but I was hoping to have it decorated before I showed my stuff. If I manage to get the back wall done, I will take some photos at the weekend.
Welcome to all my followers old and new. Jain xx

Forgot to add.......

The first picture in the last post was taken rather sneakily in The Laduree on the Champs Elysee. A very famous cafe where Julie and I took tea and cake!!! LOL The cake was divine and we also purchased some of their delicious macaroons in fabulous boxes. The picture in this post shows said macaroons and on them a tiny box of miniature ones, I brought at the show. Jain xx

Welcome to my new blog.

Hello. As you know I have been having a few problems with my other blog, giddykipperdolls. I have now taken the plunge to change it all over to this new blog. It will be the same as my last blog, ramblings about life and miniatures, also showcasing any new work I have done. I hope any of you who have landed here from my old blog ,will start to follow me here. It is all very basic at the moment, I'll customise as I go on.
For a little taster I have some photos of my trip to Paris. Julie and I had a wonderful and exhausting time and saw a massive amount of Paris. The SIMP show was fabulous and I have brought some beautiful things for my nursery, more of that a little later. Jain xx
